A survey of small businesses has found that many of them are unprepared financially for the impact of the VAT increase.

According to a survey of 1,500 businesses by Sage UK nearly 20% of small businesses have still not implemented the necessary changes needed to manage the VAT increase which comes into play on 4 January 2011.

The good news is that 68 per cent of business are prepared for the increase, but for those who have not thought about it yet, time is running out.
Managing director of Inspira, Sue Higgins, says that time is really of the essence when it comes to implementing serious financial changes like this.  “This is a particularly challenging year, as not only will you have to deal with the change in VAT rates, but you may also have to submit a VAT return that includes both VAT rates next year, so it’s vital you speak to your financial consultants to make sure you’re prepared.”

You can speak to us about getting financial advice about how to manage these changesby calling 01923 829586 and asking for Jeanie.
