Ruth Howe
Ruth, part of the Finance team, originally honed her numerical skills in the fast paced world of commodity trading.
Interesting past experiences
The youngest of 5 kids, she has loved numbers since primary school and worked for 15 years hedging metals on the London Metal Exchange for a private Swiss merchant. Switching between trading arbitrage on the New York Markets, hedging metals on the London Metal Exchange and covering FX exposure with international Banks, numbers and accuracy were critical.
Ruth and Inspira
She re-trained in bookkeeping and joined Inspira 5 years ago. She produces management accounts and therefore gets to know each client and their business. She believes that working on accounts is not just about numbers but about people.
Bubble, her toy Guinea pig sits and quietly watches her whilst she works, giving helpful hints when a balance sheet doesn’t agree.
Personal
Ruth, born and bred in London, has a busy family life with kids, guinea pigs, a dog, an allotment and still finds time to play the cello. Her favourite car was her yellow 1977 Triumph Spitfire - unfortunately it had to go when the kids came.
